TV Cable compromised?

Swap is simple...

1) Disconnect cable at TBI bracket
2) Remove 8mm (or 10mm) TV cable to case bolt
3) Pull cable housing from bore and carefully disconnect cable from TV linkage arm (don't let arm fall off or pan will need to be dropped to recover it)
4) Install new cable repeating steps 1-3 but in reverse
5) Adjust cable
6) Install transmission pressure gauge into pressure port on bell housing (7/16)
7) Fire up vehicle and run pressure test, making TV cable adjustments until pressures at idle and stall are within spec

Yep. Test at min and full TV.

They can be tricky. When I did the carb/tbi swap, it took several tries. On mine, when shifting proper, the cable "sags" slightly.

Can the cruise control cable impact the travel of the TV cable if not adjusted correctly?

After installing two different new cables and unable to adjust the TV cable correctly I was done. After searching around locally for a bit I found a mechanic shop at a residence. Had truck towed to shop and Jake the mechanic had the transmission back shifting correctly within a couple hours for the low price of $65.

That’s a good call i was going to say to take it to a trans shop and have the Tv cable setup looking at the line pressures. I burned up a good 700R4 when I added a throttle body spacer which did nothing except screw up my tv cable and no added power.
