I am looking to replace the front breaks on my 91 gmc 1500 sle but I don't know how to tell what chassis is on the truck or the difference between the two any information will help thanks.

Check the rpo codes on the glove box door and look it up. unless it has been replaced. . Other folks will chime in I'm sure.

The rotors are thicker on the HD brakes. And are not interchangeable. The calipers also have a bigger bore. They are interchangeable no problem.
