Problem solved. After a whole day of going back through all the wiring, the Security light stayed illuminated again like it did before the relearn. I did the relearn procedure again and she works now. Maybe it just didn't take before? Thanks for the Passlock info and the help yall.
So, after reading that over, it would stand to reason that since I'm still using my original key, original lock cylinder, passlock sensor....as long as a reinstall the original passlock module like I tried earlier. I should be able to rule this out as a passlock issue.
It's from the donor vehicle, yes. That's one of the first things I thought to do was swap it over to my old one and see if that worked and there was no change. Thanks for the passlock writeup, that's one of the best i've seen so I'll read up on that. Charging the battery now before moving on to...
I purchased a dash from ebay complete with wiring harness and kept that harness intact instead of swapping it out with mine(may have been a mistake). I installed it in my truck this weekend. I reused my instrument panel to keep my odometer from changing. It fired right up immediately after...
The ignition harness I put it must have been faulty. It wouldn't come out of short tamper mode. I think the passlock wiring may have been defective because I picked up a new one, installed it, and everything is just fine.
I realize I'm talking to myself but eventually someone else may see this and at least I'll have my thoughts down. If my security light just runs through the bulb check when I turn the key on, that would indicated no Passlock problem, but the crank and then stall would indicate a Passlock problem.
I turn the key on, security light stays on for 5 seconds or so which I believe is just the normal bulb check.
I crank the truck and it promptly kills itself.
The security light flashes for a few seconds and then turns off.
Relearn procedure tried multiple times with no success.
I read that...
Good afternoon y'all. I just replaced my ignition switch in my 2000 OBS K3500 Pickup. I've tried twice now to do the 3 round relearn.
Crank and let it shut itself off immediately.
Leave key in the run position for 10 minutes.
Turn key off for 10 seconds.
Crank truck again.
Complete a total of...
Looks like a new fuel pump so far has done the trick for me. My old pump passed the leak down test and pressure tests, but it was the last thing I could think that could cause my starting problem. I went to AutoZone and got a Delphi FG0086 for $185 bucks and put it in and so far so good. Idk...
I just solved my issue that was close to yours and exactly like GreenZ98's. I swapped in a Delphi MPFI unit and as long as it had been sitting for a while, like first thing in the morning, it would fire right up. If it only sat for a few hours then it would take 5 or 6 seconds to fire up. I...
