I saw a set of the correct visors on ebay earlier today for frigging $175. My keyboard and desk almost got a coffee shower. I'm not sure how much an upholsterer would charge, but I'd bet its close.

I may have to just keep stalking the JY.

Yeah, pretty sure my shop quoted me $150 or so to re-cover them. I'll do it one of these days, but I'm going to wait until my headliner bugs me enough to drop the $500 on that. For the time being I just stuck some neodymium magnets up there to keep the fabric from hitting me on the top of my head.

Does anyone one know what a reasonable tint level is to use for the front? I want my front windows and windshield to be similar if not the same as the rear windows. What do you guys recommend?

20% matches the rear stock tinted glass

20% is factory match.
I'd look at your states tint laws before you do anything. Where I'm at anything darker than 35% is illegal on the front two side windows. I went with 20% as I couldn't tell much of a difference between that and 35% side by side. Over four years later and I've never been stopped for it so I guess the cops don't mind it. Your experience may vary, I'd keep it as close to legal as you can.
I second this especially if the police around the areas you're in regularly are stiff on tint enforcement. Michigan only allows the top four inches of the front side windows and windshield to be tinted any color any darkness. I factory matched my entire front sides. Never been bothered in the four years it's been on. I also have a Six inch 5% brow on my windshield. Awesome for when you're driving into the sun. If you plan to tint the whole shield don't go too dark. It'll really cut your vision down at night even with good headlights. I won't tint the whole shield on my truck because I'd be a cop magnet an I don't feel like spending $150/wk on tint tickets. If you go full shield get 50% or 35% at most. Put a 5% brow on the top for sun blockage and run it. Safety before looks.

$175.00 for used? Ouch!
If I had the right color in stock & didn't have to order up any, $75.00 for a recover of a basic standard set. Although, finding the exact matching color elastic in that width that GM used is damn near impossible. More than likely it'll be black. That's part of the prob with having to recover these.
The Escalade ones with the pull-out part & the mirrors are a bit more work to do. That = more $$$, of course.
Take about 1.5 hr.s or so to do, so I'd be doing them for the labor rate.
The material would be minimal. Less than 1/2 a yard. If the right material is in my stash, it's a left-over from a previous job. Add $20 if I have to order-in specific for the job.
