I have a 97 Heavy half GMC. 5.7 Vortec. I'm not looking for something crazy, But I just Lifted it 8 inches, and has brand new 35s, truck goes good and handles great. My only complaint so far is it feels like its slackin on the power end now (obviously) the only thing ive done to the engine is regular maintenance, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and I threw a Specrte Cold Air Intake on it as well. Any suggestions to help wake up the beast so she doesn't feel like shes struggling??

This man speaks the truth. 4.10s on 8" lift and 35s would still be pretty aenemic. 4.56 or better.

Keep in mind if it's a 4WD you're going to have to do both the front and rear, and you might as well throw a real locker in the rear while you're in there. It's not going to be cheap.

Fawk 5.13s let 'er eat haha I'm kidding 4.56 will get you what you want. You have the 14b sf so you have a good platform rear axle wise

Gears, locker +1.

I'd also say why not exhaust, like some headers, hi flo cat(if needs be), flowmaster 40 series (i like the sound), and top it off with a chip or a tune! Take full advantage of that re-gear.

He's going to have to get a tune after the regear anyway, he's got a Vortec truck so no DRAC adjustments. A tune will be necessary to correct the speedometer.
