Awwwww yeaaahhh...

Popped the old Centerlines off, cleaned up and quickie painted all the hubs, calipers, leafs, etc. since they'll now be visible. Had the tires mounted up and they balanced great with minimal weight needed in just one spot on each wheel. The fronts are 20x8.5 with Toyo Proxes ST2 255/45/20, rears are 20x10 with Toyo Proxes ST 295/45/20. These are XL load rated tires so they're great for this application. Held on with a full set (all 20 lugs) of Gorilla "The System" locking lugs, the kind where the keyed portion is unique (not generic like the typical spline lugs) and is recessed close to the wheel to make it more difficult to hammer anything over them.

I have to admit that I'm not a fan of your old centerlines but your truck is the only one that I have ever seen pull it off. It looked good but now... WOW! Great choice!

The truck has pretty much become my girlfriend's, just by nature of she can't drive stick so the maroon '94 was going to be my driver. It's sold now and replaced by the red Suburban...which she thinks is "pretty" too. So once I get it reliable we might be back to swapping out. But the choice of putting 338's on the black truck was hers, and she couldn't be happier; cracks me up to have a girlfriend all giddy over new shoes...for the truck!

Got out a little late! Had to go pick up the wrecker from our shop, they were supposed to be ripping the laptop mount, printer, etc. out of it because my new truck was supposed to be there for it to be installed...nah! Didn't happen. Maybe today.

OK so now the new dilemma. My -temporary- plan was to polish up my Centerline Smoothies and put them on the Suburban. But I think after 7 years I might finally be tired of them. ;) Really tempted to get another set of 20x8.5 and 20x10 338's so both trucks would be twinkied up, but that seems kinda cheesy.

I really like the AR Nova's but the only way you can get them with enough backspacing to run on a lowered truck is to get 22's and I don't know if I'm comfortable with that. I've bent enough 20's with these rotten streets/highways here. A comparable size tire to the 255/45/20 I like to run would be a 255/35/22 or 265/35/22, should be fine on 22x9's. From what I see the selection isn't as great in 22" tires so finding a wider one to run on a 22x11 rear but at the same height gets difficult; maybe best to run same size on all 4's.

Thoughts?

Yeah that 454SS looks good with the Novas but he went with 20x8.5 in front, 22x11 in the rear. I really don't know how he got away with that 4.75" backspacing in the front on a lowered GMT400; this may be back to what I mentioned before with the brakes - it just may have the 1" rotors the regular cabs normally got, though I would have guessed a 454SS would be upgraded with HD (JB6) brakes. Who knows. Maybe not, since I seem to recall the 9.5" 14 bolt they have still uses small drums compared to other 9.5" trucks.

Anyway if I went with the Novas I think I'd have to stick with 22" all the way around but can't decide whether to stagger or stay with 9" on all 4 corners.

Looking at the black truck this morning I just got such a big kick out of how good the 338's look on there...it's gonna be tough deciding to go with anything different.

Black truck looks clean with the boss someotherguy!!! I had those same wheels but 20x8.5 all around on my truck for one day , ended up selling them to my dad. Like those locking nuts to, i asked for somthing like that at discount tire and they sold me those spline nuts, i thought they were locking nuts but they dont do ****. Truck will look good with either nova or the boss, but if you get the novas get them staggered. Heres my dads tahoe and my truck. Dam i love that big lip

Man, I love your crew cab. Many times I almost ditched my old white '92 extended cab in favor of building a crew and doing exactly what you did - swap 1/2 ton suspension over for ride and bolt pattern. If you don't mind me potentially biting your style, what size wheels and tires are you running?
