Progress report: I was fighting the parking brake adjustment cable tooth and nail and one of the freakin metal flakes got in my eye. It was pretty painful and I couldn't open my eye so had to go to the doctor and wait in line and the optometrist removed the little shard. Said it scratched a little on the surface but thank god nothing permanent or damaging. Also went out to Harbor Freight and bought an impact gun (electric, 230lbs) and spent the past 45 minutes trying to get the parking cable loose. There's not enough slack for it to get to the middle hole to slip out. I'm just going to take my reciprocating saw and cut the little metal piece that is enclosing it and just try to slip it out. Aside from this stupid cable, the prep work is done.
I took a break from the cable and decided to unbolt the cab mounts, MY GOD. The thing will not move. Soaked it in pb blaster a few days ago too. I put some WD 40 on it and pb blaster again just now. I didn't realize I was using a 16mm socket instead of 15mm and thought I broke it free but it had just stripped the bolt a little. (using a breaker bar with a pipe) So.... hmm I'm not sure how to get these bolts out. I was originally going to use the breaker bar to break it loose and then use the impact wrench I got to do the rest but now I'm not so sure. Maybe using the impact from the get-go will help vibrate it loose.
I'm going to eat dinner and head back to Harbor freight and get some impact sockets (didn't realize you can't use the regular ratchet chrome sockets, you need the black heavy duty ones) and just try to blast this sucker with the gun. I REALLY hope it doesn't strip off or the bolt head breaks off. In that case, I have no clue what i'd do. I heard of a bolt extractor but man that sounds... horrendous.
EDIT: sorry for the late updates, im on pacific standard time so it's only 7pm here
