My center cap adapters should be here tm.. I am wanting to lnow asap if anyone knows what the bolt size and thread is for the center caps on the truck rallies. There 15x8 rallies.. Not sure if they are 88-98 rallies or earlier rallies.. If anyone can give me any insight on the thread/bolt size i would greatly appreciate it!!

88-98 rally wheels had the center caps held on by the lug nut caps, the older ones had bolts/screws holding them to the rim and 15x8 should be the early 80's rally, 88 and newer were 16", if i remember right it was like 1/4 in coarse thread hex head screws much like the ones used to hold on lund products to sheetmetal

here are what the early 80's rally look like, small hole usually found on vans, looks similar in the center shape to the 16" ones on the gmt400 except the bolt on caps and the gmt 400 ones had 4 slots to them

bigger hole version also late 70's early 80's

i had run the older rally with the newer gmt 400 cap on my old 94 for a while, just had to use the 94 lug nuts with the lug nut covers to hold on that style center cap

Would the ring, pinion, and differential out of a '00 GMT 800 work in a GMT 400 10 bolt? The reason I ask is one of my dad's trucks somehow got the pinion bent between the crush sleeve and the splines. Well, dad tried to fix it as cheaply as possible and only changed the parts that were completely destroyed. Well, as it turns out there's something still wrong with it. There's an extremely loud noise coming from the rearend. My thoughts are my truck has 3.42s and spider gears. And that truck has a new set of 3.73 gears and a gov lock. The truck has over 300,000 miles but the rearend has less than 200,000 miles on and I'm only wanting to use the differential out of it. Dad is wanted to either, sell, junk, or trade this truck. If the ring, pinion, and differential would work in my truck I'd only be out the price of a rebuild kit to get it in my truck.

i wouldnt use that g80 governor bomb, they blow up pretty easy

This one managed to survive a 5.3L with a heavy foot. The pinion got bent up bad enough it had to be drove out with a hammer, the yoke was bent with a chunk missing, and the rollers in a bearing got flattened. Somehow the differential didn't break before any of that. And if it would even work in my truck, it's going behind a 4.3L so it ought to last. I just need to know if it'll work in the older axle.

My turn! Which years/models of truck should I be looking at if I wanted to swap a 14 bolt into my 10 bolt 97K1500 Sub? Would have to be 6 lug tho, I think it's the 2500's right?

Look for heavy duty K1500 and light duty K2500. The light duty K2500s are easy to spot because they are 2500s with 6 lug wheels. But look for a 6 lug with a 14 bolt cover. Make sure its from a 4wd so you'll have the right width.
