Well, I really have not done too much to the truck this week, so far. Maybe tonight...

A couple nights ago, I had an hour to spend on it. So, I pulled the radio out of the dash (cheap Pioneer MVH291BT) to make sure it was wired right. Someone did a super nice job connecting the radio to a Metra adapter that plugs into the stock radio wiring... I mean really nice! Everything is wired correctly, too. Even though it is a cheap head unit with only 1 pair of RCA pre-amp outputs for a sub woofer, It does connect to my phone well so I can stream my Spotify play list.

I pulled the dash speakers out and they are WASTED. I have to assume that the rear speakers are just as bad, though they are a bit more involved to get to. Since the stereo system is not a priority upgrade right now, I just bought some cheap Pioneer 4X6 coaxial replacements, adapters to connect them to the stock plugs, and a new antenna adapter (the one in it was broken, no wonder it didn't get any stations very clearly).

I think I have everything I need to fix the speakers now, so that will happen next, while I'm waiting on the gauge cluster repairs. I also need to change the oil, bleed the front brakes, and go out and bed them in. That is waiting on the previously mentioned gauge cluster repairs.

Tonight I got out there for a couple hours and got the head unit back in the dash, got the 2 front speakers done, and got the right rear speak installed. Boy, those rear trim panel clips are gnarly! I need to come up with a different method of mounting those panels back again, around the rear window. Some of them are missing many of the clips and the tabs to mount them to. Didn't take any pictures tonight... Tomorrow we'll tackle the left rear panels and speaker.

When I snapped a few of my tabs off I just scuffed the plastic and used some 5min epoxy for plastic and smooshed it back on. Seems to be holding. If you don't have the broken bits, try and find some thin plastic and make some up. Or maybe some industrial strength velcro would do the trick?
