454 as well as the 366 and 427 were all OBD1 TBI big blocks.454ci? Yeah.... find one compatible with OBDI.
And acceleration of a 2.2L454 as well as the 366 and 427 were all OBD1 TBI big blocks.
There was a complete carbed 366 that was up for auction locally here a few weeks back. It looked to be in fantastic condition. I wanted it, and it went cheap, but I didnt have room for it, or a use for it. It even had factory headers.
If you're not towing heavy loads, just general driving, I find the 350 in my truck to be plenty good. The torque is down low so off-the-line acceleration is pretty good.
Weren’t those 366 big blocks all truck engines, i.e., tall deck blocks?
“Factory headers”? Do tell.
We’ve got a C65 tandem w/ grain box at the farm with a 427. I would have to guess it’s age, I’m thinking it was built in early 70s. I wish I had a picture…
