Not impossible that the injectors have stuck closed with varnish.

I had one do that on a Treasure Yard throttle body assembly. Took several minutes before it freed-up and began to squirt. Until it started squirting, the engine ran on four cylinders as the other injector still worked.

Since then, it's been problem-free for many years.

When all basic methods fail, and you finally admit to yourself you need to run a fuel pressure check as mentioned earlier - don't be surprised when you discover zero pressure, and pull the sender only to find the hose from the pump to the sending unit has deteriorated into goo from sitting immersed in bad fuel.

What is a good in-line pressure gauge setup you would recommend? And is it easy to do? I would like to have one at all times someday.

You have to search for one that either outright claims it is compatible with GM TBI vehicles; many are not. A special fitting will be included that you can install either temporarily or permanently, your choice; also your choice whether you install it down by the fuel filter or behind the TBI unit. Behind the TBI unit is more work initially as you usually have to loosen the fuel line bracket at the back of the engine (transmission-to-engine stud) and slide the line back a little, but is easier to connect the gauge there whenever you please vs. having to climb under the truck to hook it up. I suggest a cap over the fitting to protect the valve from dirt. A simple black A/C service port cap fits just fine.

Actron used to make a gauge kit that I preferred but this model # has been discontinued. You might still find one in stock somewhere, or find a similar unit. Note the special fitting for TBI engines.

I got this kit with an AFPR from RV Morse before he passed away but the parts are still available online, you'll just have to search for them.

Looks like this mounted, with a 28LB spring set to 28 PSI

I had the same problem and was banging my head for a while before somebody on here pointed me in the oddly right direction.

The Ignition Control Module under the distributor cap actually controls the injectors too. Probably something to do with not feeding fuel if there is no spark. I replaced that and has been running fine since.
