hahahahahahaha well now that I'm done reading this thread and missed all that BS. LOL. theres nothing wrong with posting a short cut for the rednecks and theres absolute nothing wrong with someone pointing out that it is not a good idea for various reasons. that usually stops someone from making a mistake, I have stopped myself from making a mistake and its been pointed out when I have shared incorrect information, as I have...

I've stated more than once that DexVI goes in transfer cases based on this service bulletin not knowing that there is a different service bulletin stating the opposite.

I hope all those times I've said something wrong that at least once someone reads where it was pointed out that I was wrong. I try to go back and correct my mistake or point out that this might not be the right way but it worked for me. theres lots of redneck in me but I try to do things right.

I mean what kind of redneck cares about window sweeps anyways? LMAO I actually need to replace the one in my Sierra and this thread has been fairly helpful. I'm sure I would have done as the OP demonstrated but my door skin is off anyways to keep all the electronics dry.... dangling off the door handle. :)

HAHAHA

Thats my take too - there is a ridiculous range of trucks on this forum, from my shitbox to the GMT400 Escalades running around.

Obviously some tips are gonna be more useful to the shitbox crowd, and some more useful to the Esky crowd.

As far as the stupid WD40 debate, again, theyre both right. If I used WD40 on my paint to clean it off or something it would never matter because my truck is never going to get a paintjob anyway - however a lot of people here like to have nice paint, and any harsh chemical that has a tendency to leave residue makes painting harder for a variety of reasons.

Really hate the gatekeeping that happens - its like super rednecks just wanna say "heres how I kick the **** out of my rig and if you dont also do this you're a *****"

Then sometimes the guys with nice/expensive builds will **** all over anything redneck engineered, because they aren't "doing it right" (read: differently than how they would do it)

Idk man, quite a few really nice gmt400's runnin around here in redneckville. On Eastern Shore DE where I lived most were rusted from the door handles down. When I lived in Jersey quite a few didn't have much left to even snap a belt molding on to. LOL

Maybe that what it was, a 5.2 but it was punched and board out, Im not sure, Im not a Ford guy LOL, but there is some I would have and the 67 - 68 is one. Love a Pantera, love a Shelby Daytona, and GT 40. Im more of a Chevelle, GTO El Camino, Camaro guy. Like an old vette too.
It could be a 5.4 Triton from a truck? A few years ago I went to a car show and saw a nice Mustang there and the Owner had a 5.4 under the hood. I can't remember if it was boosted though. There's guys dropping the 7.3 Godzilla in their project Mustangs. Probably as close as it gets to the golden era of the muscle cars with big blocks under the hood.

Well I know it takes a while but if you leave your truck out long enough eventually the moldings will help you out and self remove themselves... 2 seconds to remove lol. I think there good for another 23 yrs:)

Oh and I get there more common for crew cabs/4dr suvs

People dont understand what body work really is. 90% prep work, 10% painting. First steep, strip off any old wax, oil, dirt, ECT. Then sand, then clean again with a new rag and a cleaner for pre paint work, or a clean tac cloth. Repeat, repeat, repeat until everything is final sanded ( block sanded several times) then paint, in stages, then clear coat in stages, then finish block sand again in stages, then buff out the clear. And thats why a real good paint job can run $10,000. Even a cheap paint job is still a lot of work. And that's not mention any repairs, rust, dents ext. There are 3 things I will pay to have done to my truck. Paint & body work, front end alignments, and transmission work.
Yup it’s all about prep painting is the easy part I fully restored and painted my 55 bel air took me two weeks for the paint
