The K1500/2500/3500 Originally came with stamped LC's that had a riveted ball joint. Later models came equipped with stamped/forged combos that had a pressed in ball joint and the very late models came with fully forged LC's with a pressed in ball joint. I don't remember the break down for the years but there is a thread that spells it out here on the forum

You are correct now that I remember. I do recall my 91' LD K2500 LCA's had pressed in BJ's, so it must've been only the first couple years?

After fighting the riveted-in lower balljoints on my 1993 K1500 RCSB I decided to chalk it up as a loss and I’m currently in need of new control arms

Pretty sure that's going to be "Treasure Yard Only". Don't forget to install new bushings at the frame end. I prefer Polyurethane, they're enormously easier to install than OEM-style rubber.

The UPPER arms are different between 1500 and the 8600-lb "HD" 2500s. I don't know about the lower arms--I haven't measured them.

Had the same problem with one of my 92 JBody LCA's , ended up drilling out the rivets.

Was not fun, had to weld washers on the LCA for the buggered rivet holes, ( after trying to air chisel them out), has held up now for 2 + years.......

that’s good to know, hopefully someone can chime in about the lowers.
I’ve got polys for all the control arms, leafs/shackles and body mount bushings that I’ll be installing

I’d consider doing that with mine but after they got as hot as they have I don’t trust them anymore. Off to the junkyard! Lol

I’m surprised no one makes LCA’s for how common these trucks are, do you know if the K1500/K2500/K3500 LCA’s are the same fitment-wise?
