I would have thought HP tuners was half that of EFI live but now someone is saying 5x? If that's the case I'll probably stick with sending my PCM back to black bear because I'm too cheap to even buy efi live for $800.

Hptuners is $400 with 2 credits. $50/credit.

I bought mine with 8 credits. Sold/used all but 2 already.

Got an injector question. Well mostly...

96 L29, hard start, smells rich on start up, rough idle, WOT studder, issue. I'm almost certain these injectors have been replaced with oem injectors aka garbage... I also have the mistry coolant leak with a lot of steam coming out of the exhaust on start up. So I'm gonna be pulling the intake and doing a little work In there. Probably gonna replace the FPR while I'm in there and can't stand the mere idea of not upgrading the injectors while I'm in there! All that being said I will be doing the 0411 swap in the not too distant future so I want a plug and play injector that will give me a little more juice. I'm not looking to make a hot rod out of this truck. It's a cclb, it's like driving a bus but I do tow a 16,000lbs rv quite regularly. So having some room to make a little extra torque would be nice.

So any, plug and play injectors and regulator suggestions based on that information?

If you'll look in the second or third posts on the first page of the thread, @Mangonesailor posted some injector info including part numbers for some and flow rates.

I personally have a set of LS 28# ready to go into my 96 L29 and I'm eager to see the difference in power if it's noticeable, it'll take some fine tuning to really make a difference, but I hope the butt dyno will feel it with just a base line tune flashed in.

I finally got my truck back tonight!!! 5.0 motors injectors and the FPR from the picture that Aparke posted earlier. Secondhand information from the service guy said the tech found the hose from the FPR literally sitting on top of the intake, so I imagine that had a LOT to do with my starting issues [emoji1787]. Hopefully I didn't "waste" money on these injectors. That being said, the fuel smell is completely gone, she starts like a dream, and from the quick trip home she seems a LOT more responsive and smooth. I asked them to hang onto the old FPR and injectors, can anyone tell me if these are the terrible OEM injectors everyone talks about? I got worried when I looked and saw SIX holes in the injectors they took out. I would think that more holes means better flow, is my thought process wrong on this?

Awesome! You guys are all unbelievably helpful, thank you so much! I got my front hubs replaced and did the torsion bar key/+1-2" front shocks leveling kit (I know people give that a bad rap here, but I'm happy with it so far as my front shocks were trashed and it definitely rides better than it did) at the same time so I'm tapped for truck mod monies for a bit. Next non-emergent truck part purchase is probably going to be a Blackbear black box tune. I hear even for a non modded truck it's supposed to make a noticeable difference and I've yet to hear anyone say they regretted it. Again, you guys are awesome! This is hands down the most reliable and informative resource for my 22 year old truck/engine.

Odds are you probably won't gain much power if any with larger than stock injectors. Maybe @BNielsen can confirm what DC he's seeing on his injectors since tuning? The one stock truck I tuned was borderline on injector DC, but the stock injectors technically held the AFR where I wanted it so there probably wasn't any power left on the table.

That said, if you need to replace them you may as well go bigger just in case, you're probably going to want a retune though.

Once I get some free time to pull some data logs I can do a comparison between the 19# and 28#, I'm sure someone somewhere has a table already showing the comparison though.

My one big concern now is right back to a proper fueling issue, going from not supplying enough due to the FPR not functioning, to the pump not being able to keep up with the injectors...but I doubt that would be a serious issue.
I do plan on purchasing the Racetronix hotwire kit for my fuel pump just to expand the longevity of the pump itself if nothing else.

I did just the opposite: put a 320 in the tank and kept stock wiring.
