They are all easy to swap out, for the front you take the door panels off and the factory speakers are held in with a clip. The rear doors, take a trim tool and pop the speaker grills off and the speakers are held in with push pins, for the rear ones I popped the fabric covers off with my hands and I imagine the stock speakers are held in with screws. The door speakers in the burb are Skar FSX65-8's which are 20$ a piece and the front tweeters are Skar TX-T which are 35$ for the set. The rears are Skar RPX46's which are 31$ for the set but I'm going to swap them for some Pioneer 4x10's. The rear door speakers are a tight fit and are a bit difficult to get all 4 push pins in. Also get the factory harness adapters, don't know the model number but they are a lot easier than soldering everything.
I will always recommend infinity, the primus series r cheap and will outperform most any speaker 1.5 x it's price. Every skar mid I've heard won't play low enuff to get away without a subwoofer. The infinity speakers have enuff punch to be a perfect stock upgrade, add 50-75 watts per channel and they are VERY loud.

That's primus coaxials all the way around on 75watts rms each. High pass set at 60hz

I have had both in same vehicle on same amp, I think I have a very discerning ear and I can't really tell a difference between the two, my wallet on the other hand knows the difference, the kappas u can hear a big difference tho, but they take twice the power. My second recommended speaker is polk dbi, phenomenal speakers but cost more , and it's justified as they sound beautiful. Lastly irecommend pioneer pro series , but take a ton of power and are exactly what u need to catch up to 3 15s on 8000watts like in my truck, which is why I run em..overkill for anything less tho lol.

Interesting, I'll have to check them out since I usually go with Pioneer. Also Lifer is a good song :waytogo:

I found my drop shackles while sorting through the garage, hoping to get them on this weekend.

I should be getting tires this weekend as well, only found one place with used 265/35r22's in stock.

Was messing around with the truck today and noticed she had an aftermarket alarm system in it that I had no remote for so I started to remove it. Started clipping some wires then I had to remove the lower dash panel, when I popped it off I **** you not 2 sets of keys fell out.

A unspent 380 bullet, a thing of chap stick, a pen and a milk bone fell out as well, I had a WTF moment. Both keys start Kaye and the OEM fob works too. I've found some interesting stuff in vehicles before but I think this wins and brings more questions than answers.

Continued to remove the alarm system, lots of wire taps. One was on the hot for the floor lights oddly enough. Then I got to the column wiring, was not impressed with what was done here. The red wire has a crimp, and a cut beneath with a wire going into it that is poorly soldered. Lots of crimps. 9 or 10 total.

I cut that mess out and had to reuse some wiring from the alarm system to hook the pink and yellow wires back together as I didn't have the correct gauge wire. Went and looked for my soldering iron to put it together the correct way, found my iron but no solder. I re-flowed the solder on the red wire and used wire nuts on the pink and yellow wires. It'll get soldered at some point.

Much better

Here's the wires I pulled out and the rest of the stuff that fell out of the dash.

I have 3 sets of key and the crotch vent works now, can't complain about that.

After that, took a break then installed the drop shackles. Now the top of the leaf touches the underside, don't think it is supposed to do that. I took her for a really slow spin and it rode fine so I don't know.

When the wheels were off I made a discovery, the rear tires are shot too. Don't know how I missed that the other night but the inner sidewall on both rears are bulged out, hopefully I can get 4 used tires this weekend.

As she sits now Kaye is 4 inches lower than my other 400, her front fenders are 32 and 3/4ths and 32.5 in the rear. My other 400's front fenders are 36.5 and 37.5 in the rear
