Am I supposed to have a 2 piece driveshaft?

I have a C6P RPO truck with a 8600 GVWR and I saw this under the truck. Auto stores show this is supposed to have a 2 piece with this option, but this definitely needs a support bearing if it’s true. I’m not happy with the rear shaft angle. Am I crazy? If anyone has a 98 Reg cab C2500 5.7 with the 5 speed can I get pictures?

That is not factory, what wheel base is your truck,131.5?

While that is the correct place for the bearing to go, the bracket is entirely missing. Somebody did some funny business.

Wow, that doesn’t look right. That looks like an extended cab 2 piece shaft they cobbled in with the support bearing upside down. On those, there is a crossmember it bolts to. I thought yours being a single cab would take the big aluminum one piece, but I could be wrong.

Looks like the body was chopped above the shaft too in the first pic. That thing must shake like an mfer.

Yes it is a 131.5 wheelbase. PO only replaced motor. 135000 miles but it was a ranch truck. I figured it had a support bracket but for 2 hours of searching I can’t find anything

Ok have the C6P RPO, so I have the right style drive shaft. So does thi mount to a crossmember or to a drop bracket?
