In the pics they say 4000 lumens, so they must be saying 8000 lumens together, not each. I don't know why they wouldn't just put 4000 lumens instead of 8000 lumens, must just be a marketing tactic.

That is typical for ads like this. I would be terribly surprised if 4000 lumens was even close to true also. $150 Osram CBI HID bulbs are rated @ 3400lm give or take. $120 Morimoto LED bulbs with 6x Philips Lumileds are good for 2500lm or so per.

That's definitely what's going on. The FastTech link also says 25W while the Beamtech and Auxbeam Amazon listings say 50W. Looks like they're rating them as a set instead of individually.

And yeah, just like the color temperature I wouldn't expect any of those ratings to be accurate.

What is your complete setup?

I am still running OEM housings from 94 so I suspect I have room for improvement there.

Spyder glass lenses, a relay harness, Philips XtremeVision +100's (when they die, +130's), and HIR high beams.

I'm happy as hell with the end product......and I'll take responsibility for all the mindless meanderings in this thread too.....LMAO

Ohh yeah! I knew they looked familiar. I'm pretty sure I've actually talked to you about them in this thread a long time ago. Somewhere in the past 230 pages...

indeed.....I just swapped out the 5 3/4" Cibie for the Z-Beam on my softail.

I'll pay $200 all day long for that lens. The last two I got I paid $300 and was grateful......I have one spare and usually look on e-bay for another extra when I have the extra loot, which is as rare as hens' teeth.
