I've seen it done. I personally dont care for it. But maybe thats just me.

my buddy has one on a 77, i dont think it looks bad. better than the original huge fender stepside bed with the weak tailgate

I think the bed is a good deal for $250 and a great deal if it comes with tailgate. Probably will take $200 for it, don't know that's just what I have learned from dealing with Craigslist people in Georgia. They almost always come off their price!
