Im looking at buying new tires and wheels. My 98 z71 is sittin on stock wheels and 245s. Im wanting a wider stance and am wondering if 305/70 bfg muds or dc mud countrys would fit black rock dune wheels 16x8s with 5 in of backspacing and 13mm offset without rubbing. My truck has tuff country add a leafs and torsion bars which gives it 2 inchs (supposedly). Not really lookin to trim and really just lookin for about 1.5-2 wider stance so would go with 285/75s if it would meet that requirement and fit. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

The 305's will fit, will probably need some t-bar crank though. Those 16x 8 wheels are hardly going to stick out any more then the stock wheels. You need a wheel with a little bit of negative offset.

16x8's with 0mm offset actually look pretty decent, but if you're wanting that half-of-tire-sticks-out-of-fender look, with 16x8, you'll wanna go like -12 to -24 or maybe even higher.

it aint so much the tire width that's gonna make it stick out it's the rim as they said a 285 is the same as a 305 only the 305 is maybe an inch wider if that.

some wheels with like 4 inch or so backspace will stick out.

So if I went with lets say a moto metal MO951, 16x9, -12mm offset, 4.5 backspacing. Could I see around a +1.75in stance? I got some bushwacker extend a flares at that width for cheap so im lookin to fill them out, or atleast get within a .25in. Also with a 16x9 would I wanna run a 285 or 305 if I wanted to avoid rubbing.
