hey i just got stationed down in Baltimore temperially and there just happens to be a pick n pull down the street so i took a walk around there and found a 14 bolt in a 89 K2500. i already have one to replace my blow 10 bolt but if this has got 4:10 gears or a G80 in it i might want it. also if i pull it, it only 69$!!! i couldn't believe it. also if these pictures are what you need then can you tell me for future reference on how to read them.

That fist picture of the codes in the glove box is what you need to look at for rear end ratio, and all the other options the truck came with. G80 is pretty self explanitory, if G80 is on the sticker it has it. For the rear end ratio, the code usually begins with GT or GU followed by a number. This one has the code GT5, which means is has a 4.10 ratio. Sounds like you really lucked out on this one and that sounds like a great price, I would be sure to pull the cover and inspect it well first though

Just make sure it is a 6 lug (9.5" 14 bolt). If it is full 3/4ton it will have a 8 lug 10.5" 14 bolt rear axle and also the larger 9.25" front housing that is not an easy fit at all.

the 8600 gvw 3/4 ton had a 8 lug 9.5 rear with the optional 10.5, the 7200 gvw 3/4 ton is the 6 lug 9.5
