I just bought a lightly used supercharger. Unfortunately it was advertised as a 177 and is in fact a 144.

Currently I have a fully forged 383. 9.8:1 compression. I know, a little high for a blower but I only wanted to spin 3-5 psi. I will retard the timing and be running 93 octane.

With it being a 144 and not a 177, is it even worth bolting up?

My math says it's a 2.3L unit? If so you should be able to hit your boost target I would think.

Good question. The 1500 in my sig has a 1.6L twin screw and made about 6psi back in MI with a 2.75" pulley. IATs were about 180-190 IIRC.
