Transmission replacement

Hi, I need to know what year transmissions will fit in my 1996 silverado. It has a 4 speed AT with overdrive now with a 5.0 engine. I am upgrading the engine to a 5.7 and need to replace the trans as well. Any help is appreciated.

4l60e would be a replacement
4l80e would be an upgrade

Go find a 3/4 or 1 ton 4L80 and use that.
