For 1993 & 94 4x4 1/2 ton trucks and such. Both 5.7 and 4.3 had the same TBI system, (although the S10 may have had a second EFI option, think it was 95) the injectors were bigger in the 5.7 but the throttle body measures the same and all parts on TB are interchangeable, the brain box it the same different chip for V8 and V6 the transmission was the same, some say the 4.3 tranny were a little weaker than the v8. The transfer case in the S10 is smaller in size, was popular for Astro van part-time 4x4, because of its size. The S10 4x4 transmission has the same 6 hole bolt up for the V8 transfer case, but check spline counts for sure, they should be the same. I have both of these truck in the back 40.

There was an option for a higher output 4.3 with a W engine code for a couple or three years. My son has one in a S10 Blazer. Looks similar to 96 up Vortec V6 , intake is aluminum.

92-95 L35 is what it was. It coexisted with the TBI motors. Made up to 200hp/260tq.

V6 transmissions use fewer discs and steels in the clutch packs than their v8 counterparts. While you can physically bolt them together, you shouldn't. The v6 tranny just wont hold up to the torque produced by a v8.
Besides, the output shaft and spline ABSOLUTELY will not work with the 2500 t-case at all. 32 spline 4L80 and NP 263 vs the 27 spline 4l60 and NP 241
Get the proper tranny.

I have no idea what the original question was about now, LOL.

As far as the 4L60e mounted to the V6 vs V8s, I think think they are the same.

On my transmission I pulled on my 99 Silverado NBS with the 4.3, the tranmission has that top bell housing hole, so it's called the "LS" bell housing bolt pattern. Obviously, my 4.3 did not have a bolt there. But the same tranny could of have been mated to a 4.8 or 5.3 on that truck...I think in Mexico even a 5.7 Vortec

GM I believe made everything compatible for these crossover years so you could bolt the 4l60e or 4L80e to any 4.3, 4.8, 5.3, 6.0, and even 7.4, in some combinations.

But yeah, the 60 and 80 are not a direct interchange if you are doing a swap...but you can still make either work if you wanted.

I think the imput shaft on the 300mm o-ring before splines go to the end and the 298mm has a small pilot about 19mm long after splines on the end with the o-ring.

Thanks. I got curious and went to pull the converter. Looks like 300 mm.

Anyway, I found this link to be informative on the subject:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids/1809959-will-4l60e-out-v6-truck-fit-5-3-a.html

I had read some guys running the torque converter that came stock with the 4.3s on the 5.3s. I think maybe the stall speeds may be different. I'm also swapping a 5.3 for my 4.3, but going to a 4L80, so that would not work for me...
