th350 Swap

I'm swapping a th350 into my 1991 Silverado in place of the stock 700r4, and everything is good except for the speedometer. Is there a way to make the transmission work with the stock guages? I've been told it's not possible so I'm hoping it is. Thanks guys!

I looked into it with my truck since I was wanting to do a solid axle swap and use an old 205 ior 208 t-case, best I can come up with is a thing sold by jagsthatrun, it's like a pulse generator or something, supposed to be for tbi and make a cable unit operate and generate a pulse for use with vss and it's like $70 on their site.

painless and somebody else had something similar but told me none would work due to tbi and vss, but the jagsthatrun says it's for the tbi so it should work. I have yet to try it though.

That would be awesome if you could swap tailshafts. I was hoping it would be easy since im carbing it.

Pretty sure swapping the output shaft to get the output shaft with the 40 tooth reluctor ring for the VSS is a complete transmission tear down.

Thing is, most people go to a newer OD transmission vice the other way around so those types of adapters are much easier to find...

Found that some 88 5.0's came with th350s so can you use the vss out of one of those in a 91?

autometer makes a box that uses GPS to send a speedo a signal, says it works with any speedo, not just theres.

my speedo doesnt work in my 94, i have a frost plug in the speedo hole actually.
