With the TBI, the timing is controlled by the on board computer.
The ECM.
The cam I'm using, wants 30 degrees of advance at 4000 RPM.
Way beyond the scope of the stock 230 HP ECM

Then, If I under stand what you are saying is that the ECM does not have the ability to give you the timing curve that you want, not the TBI. The TBI is strictly a fuel control device and has nothing to do with the timing curve.

True, it's the ECM.
That's why I went with the HEI, it's totally independent.
It bypasses so to say, the ECM.
I guess today I need to pull the coil from the HEI, and Google a test to see if the brand new Accel has a bad coil. I doubt it but I'm at a loss.

Ok, what is an EBL?

I posted the link above to DynamicEFI.com and the EBL (Embedded Lockers) Flash-II. He takes your ECM, modifies it, and solders in a Daughter Board which can be flashed in ~4 seconds, has larger SA and VE tables, runs at 8192 Baud instead of 160 snail speed liken a 7747 uses.

Here's the link again, it's in red and pretty hard to discern...

Sounds over my 66 year old peanut brain.
But, I THANK YOU for the very good option.
Do you have a clue how much?
Going out to check the coil now.

Hell, I'm almost 71, LOL

The site says $400, you'll have some costs in shipping too.

LOL ..... what's that you once posted?
Something like PFI ? PRETTY FOOKIN IGNORANT

Ok, checked the primary side of the coil, I'm told should be between .0 and 1.0 OHMS
I got 3.5. Not good.
Ground to center pin was 7,000 + so, within range.
Summit Racing said just bring us the coil and we will replace it. Road trip tomorrow, golf this evening.

EBL still not out of the equation. Just if I can, I want to run the EFI and determine timing to what I think runs best.

This is like a kid throwing a huge cam in a 1982 Trans AM, and can't figure out why it runs like crap.

I stopped using anything Accel 20yrs ago. That's when they started farming out labor and the quality went in the toilet. You'd be better off going to NAPA and buying a stock dist. for a heavy truck,RV or boat.
