The only part not supported is what you can see under the hood. Why in the world would you need a support on a shaft that is supported coming out of the cab and has no real angle? So my 02 has same shaft set up as my 96 does but your trying to say it needs a support? Cmon man your saying 10s of thousands trucks out there are unsafe stright from gm

Badco, if I'm reading it right, you didn't just swap with a Jeep shaft, you got a later GMT800 shaft, cut the rag joint off, and welded it onto your shaft, right? I believe the issue is that if you'd left both flexible joints on your shaft you'd be adding a joint to the later GMT400 steering setup and that can cause binding.
