I have an old Astrovan wheel that I'm using for a guinea pig to make sure I don't ruin my wheels.

I did the same had some 14 inch s-10 wheels from american racing ar23's and I stripped them last year.

What kind of center caps do you have on your rims. I have a 98 z71 and mine are plastic, don't think I could polish them.

They should be aluminum on the outside but the backsides are plastic. I thought the same about mine at first.

they are they have a thin alum. cover on the outside and the back is plastic.

well I finally started back on mine today, gotta redo the center caps, look how crappy they look compared to the wheel...

These are the wheels with the paint stripped only, or clear coat stripped I should say.
