If by DUI you mean SMP Blue Streak coil, I recall a mechanic say something similar about installing Blue Streak coils in the Gen 3 5.3 trucks. After installing the DUI coil and ICM my throttle felt a lot crisper. Dunno if it was a placebo effect or if it actually made a difference; either way the OE coil was absolutely on it's way out and the ICM probably wasn't fairing too well either. I just hope putting their distributor in will make a big difference too since I'm 90% certain my OE dizzy is probably worn, over 200K miles on the truck now and it's never been changed.
He’s talking about these guys.If by DUI you mean SMP Blue Streak coil, I recall a mechanic say something similar about installing Blue Streak coils in the Gen 3 5.3 trucks.
All the gm coils I’ve done have come with a hardware kit. But it’s just machine screws and tiny nutsSo I just realized my original coil is riveted on?
You guys who have replaced your coils, did you just get some hardware store hardware?
LOTS of GM HEI modules were made in Singapore. My original icm was from Singapore, I think.
