They seem to have a mind of their own... they work some days and not others. The only thing I have read is the multi function switch or the ground. It seems to do it more so when wet out. The cruise and turn signals and wipers still work so part of me says rule out the multifunction switch but I am asking here first before I drop 200 at the local parts store. On a side note would it be stupid to hard wire a relay so the lights automatically come on when the truck starts?

Do you have a trailer plug? If so check that, moisture can get in there and corrode the contacts and cause all sorts of "interesting" things to happen with your lights.

My other thought jumps to bad circuit boards in the tail lights, but since they're both doing it I find that highly unlikely.
