Wait, it is possible to do an SAS without immediately going 4WD? I've been wondering that but didnt want to ask and look stupid. That puts my plan a little forward in the possibilities.

Yes. Do the swap and when ready go ahead and install the 4wd trans and transfer case and boom you will have 4wd

or keep a 2wd trans and run a divorced transfer case. and then find a longer driveshaft.

My only guess would be no body roll. Like the "legs" of the truck dont bend.
