POWER STEERING PUMP FILTER???

I find inline filters not terribly effective either,and cause real trouble if/when clogged up with debris. Where the the spin on/off has a bypass provision.

I think the cardone is supposed to bypass in some way.

I use,and recommend a spin on/off filter base.
Along with a WIX spin on filter spec for power steering fluid.

I was giving serious thought to doing that, but like Shurkey, things are tight enough in there, plus more plumbing, more complicated, more chance of leaks, etc.

Do you have a part number for that WIX filter?

Mine's attached to the passenger side frame rail behind front bumper.
WIX website will narrow choices down based on thread size/pitch of filter adapter.

Thanks everyone - good info - still watching. Anyone use just an inline gas filter or is it too fine a mesh + no bypass???
