The cam I mentioned can be used with the heads in the stock configuration. No spring issues. Yes, it would be great to do it all at one time, but many times, finances dictate that we do it in stages. Exhaust can be addressed later with the engine in the truck. As for the intake, you are limited to the stock arrangement unless you really want to get complicated.
I am really thinking of swapping that cam into my 97, but I'm on the fence as to whether to do it now in an engine with 135k miles or wait until I need to go in it or replace it. If the engine were out, it would be a no brainer.
