Obd2 link error

My 1997 k1500 obd2 wont connect. The check engine light is one so the ecm is not bad i know im gonna have emmisions codes but i need to know what the engine is throwing b4 i ignore it and cause expensive problems. Thanks

this one is out of my wheelhouse I do not know what is wrong I would check all the fuses that are related to the pcm were you ever able to pull codes from it since you have owned the truck

No not one code. The scanner says iso9141. Kwp2000

I have a broken ground strap on the frame passager side engine cradle where it looks like it connects by the manifolds maybe thats the cuprit ill get a pic here soon

that could be the problem if it is rusty/broke it might be a good idea to replace the rest of the ground straps as well

Yea she crusty. Dose anyone have a diagram of where there located thanks

there should be one on the transmission bellhousing or dust cover one or booth of the cylinders heads have the on the back side I think there is another spot or 2 but I do not remember where they are at
