To verify if the MAF is to blame, just unplug it. The engine will run fine without it, but the trans will shift rough in the meantime.

I really am sad to say this but I was pretty much self taught in our public school system.

For anyone who reads this in the future. The actual issue turned out to be the fact that I had the wrong transmission installed. The truck I was having issues with was a ‘98 model and the “new” transmission I had installed a week prior was from a ‘95 model. And as we all know ‘95 was a one year only and wasn’t compatible with the ‘98. So it was stuck in 3rd gear. Once I figured that out it was a very simple fix. And as Supercharged111 said, reading was very hard that day lol
