Ok so I've been wanting to do the rear brake drum to disc swap. Well with 230,000 on the original reared its been giving me some trouble here and there, so it's going to need to be replaced soon. My questions- is there a rear end out of another gmt/caddy that is already set up with rear disc and will work on my truck. Something that will just bolt right up or should I just rebuild my rear end and add disc brakes??

Nothing that will bolt in. You might consider changing to a 14 bolt semi float from an F44 packaged 1500 or a 6 lug 2500.

I've been doing my research myself about changing my drum to disc. I read somewhere that the parts from an early 800 half ton (around an 03 year) will bolt right up, calipers and all. I'm just not sure about what to do for backing plates and how to keep my parking brake cable.
