Hey guys I am new here and just wanted to say hi. I have driven fords for years but I decided for a change. My wife and I both love the 73-87 chevy trucks however, we need an extended cab 4x4 for our family and to get to our house in the winter time. We both like the third door option and so that will be what we are looking for in a truck. I am joining this forum so I can learn as much as possable about these trucks before I buy one.

Thanks for the welcome. Looking forward to owning my first chevy since 2003. Fords are super expensive to work on and it will be nice to be able to afford to drive something rather than let it sit....

It's just the platform name. GMT400=obs or 88-98; gmt800=nbs 99-07; gmt900=nnbs 07-13ish?, etc...

Thanks guys again! I am kind of bummed out about not being able to buy a squarebody truck 73-87 however, its nice to see that there is a plenty of options and styles that can be had with the GMT400. I am currently a sophomore at Hazard Community and Technical College and In August I start my technical core as a Automotive Technican. I need something dependable and something that I can use to haul my tools back and forth to class.
