The sad truth is that the ******, ancient original mounts are probably better than any of the new ones.
I went nuts looking for replacement mounts when I replaced the engine in my '88 K1500 5.7L.
Energy Suspension polyurethane inserts don't fit properly. Too tall, too wide, and the metal inserts aren't at the same angle as the originals. Correct part number, they just don't fit.

I stopped at O'Reillys, they had one each of two different brands of aftermarket mounts. Both had THIN steel shells, and both were made in China. Probably in the same factory. Junk.

Good luck. Maybe 2WD is different, or maybe the newer trucks have some appropriate aftermarket support that the older trucks lack.
I put my original, worn-out, 310,000-mile mounts right back in. I returned everything else.
