I have a 1993 k1500 5.7 tbi. Does the computer use the map sensor to control ignition timing or transmission function or is it only used for fuel delivery?

The ECM/PCM uses a combination of the MAP sensor, and RPMs to adjust fuel and timing based on your VE (Volumetric Efficiency) and SA (Spark Advance) tables. It also uses the O2 sensor for fuel trims in INT and BLM, short and long term trims.

Here's a couple examples - the top row is MAP values and the left column is RPM.

Thanks, do you know if it has an effect on transmission control in these early 4l60es? I have been under the impression that it does not
