Bought the six pack (5+1) from SD Springs for 1998 C1500 ext cab, but have not put them on. Hope it doesn't make the ride punishing. $138 per plus shipping. It was a little over $460 by the time I paid for the shipping and tax. Link below....

I'm looking for leafs too. I have the 3+1 now. I was thinking of getting the 4+1 but I have a 2.5"-3" lift. I'd just need longer shackles right?

i actually just looked, and it looks like im missing a whole leaf lol. Which is conducive with what the shop was telling me. they said that when they put my truck on the lift there was like 3-5" of play in the rear, and they couldnt figure out if it was bushings or if i was missing a leaf lol

That doesn't seem right on the play. The standard GMT 1500 was a 4 leaf pack. I believe only if you had the RPO code F44 then you got a 5 leaf, otherwise they all had 4 leafs.

Even if a single leaf was removed from the pack, the U bolts get tightened to bolt the leaf pack to the axle tubes.

You must have something else wrong. Maybe bushings are worn?

yea, there's a lot not right with that statement. Plus theres a center bolt holding the pack together.

And 3-5" of play is HUGE! Any shop would know immediately what is wrong with. Was it side-to-side play, up-and-down, or all around?

Id be willing to bet its bushings. Unless you have one extra leaf on one side vs the other.

With that much play you shouldn't be driving it. Thats a completely hollow bushing, probably to the point of having the leaf spring rubbing on the bolt.
