Does GM have a tendency to re stock stuff like this? I find it really odd that they discontinued a plastic fuel rail that lives above the lifter valley (heat) that has no aftermarket producers. Talk about a critical part concerning support of older vehicles.

Sometimes, but not often from what I've seen. The fact that it's still got active listings on places like Summit Racing and RockAuto makes me think this could be one of those rare cases though. I noticed a similar thing with the driver's side mirrors being out of stock in many places recently. Usually if a part is truly discontinued the big distributors will take their listings for it down.
