No. It'll be on the right side. That's your column to body wiring harness connector. With a wire chopped off that probably shouldn't be...

that chopped wires looks pink but according to the manual it should be white and it's "ignition switch output, off, run, crank", going to or from trans fuse. any idea what it does?

Through the transmission fuse (#20), it goes to the transmission for the shift solenoids and to the cluster for the tach, speedo, and PRND321 display.

Although if you have a manual transmission, it doesn't have a purpose at all.

I didn't find anything to the right of the column, but I found this one hanging.

The module is either to the right of the column as one drawing shows or as in K series trucks some are mounted being the drivers left kick panel as the other drawing shows.

I don't think it matters, but pin A is green/black, B purple/white.

and the factory manual says it's under the center of the dash...

The keyless entry module is not in the kick panel and has never been there in any GMT400, those two images are showing the exact same location from different angles - to the right of the steering column, up near the top of the dash. The module is pretty buried up in there... If you even have one at all. Need to identify that aftermarket module before bothering with much anything else.

OP I think there might be a bit of thread mixing going on here as your first quote is from your VSS thread lol.
