so as was rebuilding my 700r4 I forgot to pay attention to a few little springs (they are in sets of 2s) while I was putting it back together. theyre about an inch long and I was wondering if I needed them? my old transmission, same one, didn't have them in it and the one in my rebuild video that I am watching doesn't have them either. any thoughts? if I don't have to take it apart I wont but I feel like I need to. but hey, might as well ask first right?

They are release springs...they mainly prevent 3/4 clutch failure. When you are driving in 3rd, then hit passing gear they help in releasing the 3/4 clutches fast so you get a crisp feel. They work fine without them. You will not see the difference. Some builders throw them away.
