Figured I post up some pics of the new interior, almost done with it, set of buckets will be next, and a center console, should finish it off! Yeah and a set of visors if I can find a set that doesn't hit you in the head on acceleration or hit the windshield when applying the brakes lol, yes I did get new brackets, but they made the noise of finger nails being drug down a chalk board, more like Freddy Krugers' nails, when moving them!!! Should've known better, I'll have to hit the pick-a-part yard for a "real" set of visor brackets and reinstall the new visor on them, live and learn in OBS land...

Hey TCBRacer77, sorry for the late reply busy week at work! Thanks for the compliment on the interior, I'm not a professional "as in doing it for a living" but I have been restoring interiors mostly in Cadillacs for over 30yrs, as far as the seats go, I leave that up to the pro's at the trim shops... So to answer your question on products for the "plastic" pieces for the interior I will only use One Choice, which is a PPG product made for interior work, prep, prep ,prep work is the key as with any work of this type, pull your pieces, mild soap and water, I use Dawn as it contains no silicates, worn red 3M scotch pad to clean, rinse, air dry, One Choice SXA103 multi-prep, spray pieces with this and wipe with clean micro-fiber cloth, spray with One Choice SUA4903 Advanced Plastic Bond, I chose One Choice SC Paint Elastomeric color system medium beige IIRC OEM GM # WA12A9777, 2 coats and let dry, this system is as closest to OEM as you will get, the sheen is spot on as far as I'm concerned, it will last for years, i.e. will not rub off, chip, peel, etc... if you use MEK, Acetone, Lacquer thinner etc you will STRIP this paint off as well as the oem color under it, these chemicals will also degrade the ABS plastic there made of, making them brittle and useless over a short period of time!! When its time to detail your interior, mild soap and water and wipe it dry or let it air dry, IMPO I keep all the gooey , gelly, oily stuff off my interior pieces.
Exterior paint- PPG Deltron, not cheap, 1st color of the 2 tone, upper-Dark Autumn Metallic, 2nd color-Light Autumn Metallic, 3 coats for the base, 2 coats of PPG's Diamond High Gloss clear, I use an 8 percent hardner, the reducer would be based on what area you live in. If you can tell from some of the pic's, I haven't even done a cut, buff and polish on the exterior paint job yet, I'm lazy in that area!! Hope this helps you out!! From the looks of your avatar thats a NICE looking truck!! Forgot to mention these are sprayed from a HVLP gun(s).

Dropped88, thanks man!! I was hoping that the color combo would look good! It really was a matter of what is out there right now for color choices, I was trying to mimic my interior that is in the 2017 GMC Duramax Coco/Dune color.
Cumminsfever, thanks dude!! I think she looks pretty good so far, a little more work to come, like the Ol'man said, nothing bad ever came from a little elbow grease and determination!!

You completely fooled me -- that dash doesn't look repainted...it looks like
NOS factory parts. (!)

Nice.

And thanks for freely sharing your recipe. I will be upgrading my own interior
refurbish process post haste. Wow. :waytogo:

Well after engine work has been done for now, got the interior done, found some factory visor brackets that actually work in keeping the visor in place, pulled them from a Yukon as well as the bucket seats and got lucky to found a center console to pull and referb for the cab.

Got a cheap set of seat covers from the parts store for now until I order new "skins" from the seat shop, think it turned out pretty good, seats are really comfy as well, up and down for front and back work, but forward and back doesn't, took it apart, clean out 25yr old white lithium grease, was more like yellow and hard as a rock, I believe the cable with the square end that goes into the plastic gear in the transmission for the seat track is stripped out, probably gave up years ago... another project for another day...
