I guess I may have lost the 1:30 as well, I can't quite remember now. Either way, I haven't had any issues with mating the two together.

didn't the NV4500 5 speed ONLY start in 1992?.... or am I thinking of the NV3500?

5-1 is almost ridiculous though... then again, these trucks tip the scale with a curb weight approaching 5,000lbs....
I want one for my chevelle but not sure how it would fit

Try them in the 3500HD's - 4.63 and 5.13 Dana 80's out back.

And yes, 1992 was first year for the NV4500. Prior to that if you got a heavy duty manual it was the SM465 4 speed, kinda like how prior to 1991 (4L80E first year) if you needed an HD automatic you got a TH400. And as a side note first year for 3500HD's was 1991 and no manual was offered, 4L80E only.

I have been tempted to put a toggle on my 4WD shifter bezel that interrupts the signal to the actuator so I can muck about in Low-2L-4.56 range.

Could i do that with my floor shift? Just run a toggle to interupt the signal to the actuator?

Yes. My choice of location is due to the proximity to the transfer case harness at that point, it would be least difficult to rearrange things to there. If I'm reading the diagram correctly, the transfer case switch sends the actuator it's energize/engage signal on the brown wire in circuit 50.
