High volume oil pump 98 K1500 5.7

It’s been a while
I got the oil nice and hot last weekend hauling firewood
I pointed my laser thermometer at the oil cooler lines and got 228 and 223.
5 degree differential through the oil cooler?
Doesn’t sound right to me
Is there a bypass built into the stock system?
Anyway, how do those temperatures look?

225-ish wouldn't bother me a bit. Infrared thermometers are notoriously inaccurate.

I had the oil in the Boat 454 go up to 300 one time. Engine water jacket plugged with pieces of the rubber vanes broken off the marine water pump.
