I'm Awesome
If you didn't set the CMP offset, then that is probably what is triggering the code. It could also set if the distributor is off a tooth, but it's usually the offset being out of range. I'd start with setting that.
You'll need either a good scanner or can download an app and use a bluetooth OBD adapter to read the offset.
Loosen the hold down bolt on the distributor and turn the distributor until the CMP Retard (as read by the scanner) is zero degrees (plus or minus 2) at around 1,100 rpm (but no less than 1000). Tighten the bolt down when it's at zero and you're done. I believe that code sets when the offset is off by more than 14-degrees.
For Android, I've used DashCommand and CarGauge Pro. For DashCommand you'll need to download their extended PID for your specific model. Total cost for the app is around $40. You'll need a Bluetooth adapter for the OBD2 data port. I used a BAFX 34t5 which was around $20 on Amazon.
I couldn't find an OBD adapter that would work with an iPhone app, so bought a cheap Android tablet and used it.
