Weekend bump guys. Im looking for opinions on tire and wheel sizes. Im torn between 18x9 or 20x9. I do not go off roading. its basically a street truck with a slight attitude so I want a tire that doesnt look like a passenger cars tire but not too aggressive that it will look out of place on a non lifted hoe. The width and ratio of a tire can make or break the overall look and its so hard to tell how it will look by just using offset calculators or seeing pics.

What tire size would look better on a 20x9 wheel -12mm offset with a slight crank and lift block in the rear. Im looking at 275/60-20 which will be 33" high.

also, a 305/55/20 will be 33.2" high.

I have called over a dozen retailers and a few manufacturers and I cannot get the wheels I want. it seems that everyone and their mother is ordering wheel right now and the waiting time is about 6 weeks. I was also told by at least 8 places that I CANNOT fit a 305/55/20 tire on my truck unless I have at least a 4" lift!! All I want is a 20x9 wheel with a -12mm offset. how hard is that

I really wish I upped and went to 18s instead of the 285's in 16's.

I'd just do a 18" rim on 285s and call it a day

I dont want the wheels to look too small when it comes time to lift the truck. That is why I am leaning towards the 20s right now. I can do a 33" tire now a crank and a block and then when it comes time to upgrade to a 6" lift, I can put 35" on the same wheels.

IMO, any wheel smaller 17" on these trucks looks funny when its lifted. 16" and 17" are so 80s and 90s era wheels

305 will fit, not sure about offset in mm, but my front is like 5' 1/2 inches I believe, have to trim bumper though, I know some places wont put the tires on the truck do to insurance issues, might have to take in rims and have them put on
but 305s can fit, stock offset they may hit the frame, im about and inch or so away when turned all the way, 1/2 off bumper when turned just right, 1 inch crank is all I could get, felt really stiff, but I think the 305s make it feel better

I just ordered 20x9 wheels with a -12mm offset with 305/55/20 tires. Blocks will be going in the rear as well as a crank job up front this weekend. Hopefully it all works out. I will update this thread with pics when the wheels are on.

Wheels just came in!!!!

THey are huge. I havent fit them yet but Im guessing I will need to crank quite a bit to get them to fit. I may decide to buy a 4" suspension lift if I dont like the way the truck rides with the crank.

I have 305/30-26's on stock suspension (cranked up). Doesn't ride bad and only rubs a little on the front fender extension if you pull up something steep with the wheel turned. They are 33.5 inches tall overall with new tires.
