Used Mother's cleaner wax today. It helped some. but not fantastic.... whatever, I installed it.
I've had new TYC lights and reflectors waiting for this project for a few months. I did have to trim one of the reflectors slightly. I just ground down and edge with my grinder. I thought one of the TYC corner lights was way out of wack, because it was no where near fitting, and then I realized I had the one from the opposite side. I guess when I initially opened the boxes months ago, I put them back in the wrong boxes, since today I laid everything out by side, ahead of time.
I had to take the turn signals out again after I got everything together, I realized the corners weren't working. They've always been a little flakey. On one side I just pulled the bulb and turned it around, the other side needed a new bulb. I looked through my bulb stash and found a Stanley 194 from I don't know where.... could be older than the truck.
Those screws feel like they're 10 miles long when using a regular screw driver. The factory screws don't seem to fit my Craftsman screw driver very well, but I don't think a GM vehicle would use JIS.
Before installing the grille, I sprayed the core support and everything attached to it with Greased Lightning and then pressure washed it. The engine was already decently clean, so that got hit with just water. After drying with an electric leaf blower, I sprayed the core support with Blaster's new Fluid Film competitor. The engine got sprayed with my 10 year old can of CD2 Engine Detailer that's almost gone now.
