Guage Cluster swapping out 88-91 for a 92-94

is it possible to simply switch out a whole gauge cluster box thing from a 1988-1991 with a needle cluster from 1992-1994?

because the 88-91 ones look like .... its the only thing keeping me from buying one since ill be looking at it a lot

No sir...you replace the entire connector, and wire in the pigtail for the DRAC module which you will also need. There's practically nothing in common between 88-91 and 92-94 except the basic shape of the cluster.

(What you're thinking of with moving a few wires around is using a 91 cluster in an 88-90, since 91 still had the same electronics but some came with a needle cluster.)

can you post the HOW-TO link?

im thinking of buying a 90 gmc and i would replace that whole gauge cluster box thing.... my 93 had just one plug in the back

wow that looks complicated as ****.... the stupid "DRAC" unit is a huge pain...

i was hoping for a simple wire plug switch like this.....
