gear shifter wont come out of park

It started doing this after the 411 swap. It takes like 10 minutes of playing with the shifter to get it to finally change gears. Could there be an error in my wiring of the p/n saftey switch. Or maybe somethng else

Could be the safety switch, you wouldn't happen to be parked on a hill would you?

Nope flat ground. But ill check my wirimg again and see if maybe i crossed the wires

Just jump the switch and see if that fixes it.

In 97 did they have the fuse for the shift lock?

I think it was on the brake light circuit.

Well that might be my problem cause i haven't changed my bad brake light switch yet
